Summary: Pan Seared Tuna Fillet served with a Caribbean Style Slaw
Cooking time (duration): 15 minutes
Number of servings (yield): 2
Ingredients
- ½ Cup Jerk Spice
- 8 Oz. Tuna Fillet
- 4 Oz. Won Ton Skin
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 2 Oz. Soy Sauce
- 2 Oz. Sesame Oil
- 1 Oz. White Vinegar
- 4 Oz. Pea Sprouts
- 2 Oz. Red Peppers
- 2 Oz. Yellow Pepper
- 1 Cup Spinach
- 1 Onion
Instructions
- Render saucepan hot with olive oil and won ton chips
- Fry for a few minutes and set aside
- Rub jerk spices over tuna
- After about 3 minutes of searing, remove from heat and let rest.
- Using napkin, place under tuna fillet and remove excess oil
- Slice tuna into ¼” thick pieces
Slaw:
- In large mixing bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white wine vinegar
- Add sprouts, red and yellow peppers, spinach and onions.
- Drizzle with slaw vinegar and balsamic
To Serve:
- Add slaw to small bowl.
- With large rectangular serving plate, place slaw on one end of plate
- Arrange sliced tuna pieces from one end of plate to the other
- Drizzle tuna pieces with vinaigrette
