Ingredients

  • 1 Filet Mignon- cut into very small pieces
  • 4 baby dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 3/4 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon shallots
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons parsley
  • 3/4 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground salt
  • 1 shallot

Instructions

  1. Cut baby dill pickles into small pieces.
  2. Add capers beside pickles on cutting board, and dice all into tiny pieces.
  3. Put chopped filet Mignon into bowl, and add all but 1/4 cup capers and pickles.
  4. Add Dijon mustard to bowl with steak.
  5. Add shallots and ketchup to mixture.
  6. Add Worcestershire Sauce.
  7. Add Tabasco sauce and black pepper.
  8. Add salt to mixture.
  9. Mix ingredients together by chopping ingredients into meat with spoon.
  10. Using old bread, cut 6 small circles out using circular cutter.
  11. Grill bread with olive oil drizzled on top of bread. Cook for 5 minutes or until bread is dark brown on both sides.
  12. Cut shallot into very fine slices. Rings of shallot will be used for garnishment.
  13. Place Tartar on grilled bread.
  14. Serve shallots on side for garnishment.
