You Are What You Eat

Now that you know a little bit more about me, let’s talk about FOOD! Food is my life and food is the energy that we all need to live. It is also what we are made of. You know the saying…you are what you eat. This is true in so many ways. We tend to eat what we can get our hands on in our busy lives and that is not what is always best for us.

Instead of fast food for a quick breakfast and lunch, try some fresh fruit or a salad you bring from home. Not only are you eating better, but you’re also saving money. If you plan out your meals and cook them on the weekends, you could enjoy great food and save about $10 a day. Just imagine how you might be able to spend the extra $200 a month.

Skip the coffee and smoothie shop! You can also make your own smoothies in the morning from home and bring them with you on your drive in or to enjoy at work and save another $5 dollars a day in addition to feeling healthier and more refreshed.

I want all of you to make a promise to your family and friends and have dinner together at least one day a week. Turn off the distractions such as the TV, radio, telephone and for god’s sake, texting! Who invented this? Can we shoot them? Eat something healthy: some fresh veggies, nothing fried, some fruit and/or a good piece of protein. Make it fun! Ask everyone to bring an ingredient. Get out the recipes or make something up. Be creative!
