Albondigas

Summary: Meatballs with a tomato and pepper sauce garnished with fresh parsley and freshly grated cheese is an excellent appetizer or a side dish for cocktail party.

Ingredients

  • 1lb of grounded beef
  • 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili flakes
  • ¾ Cup Real Italian Parmesan cheese
  • 1 canned tomato
  • 1/2 small bowl roasted red pepper
  • Fresh parsley
  • Roasted red tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 medium onion
  • Olive oil

Get Ready To Work in “Real Time” to Make Albondigas:

Get out these items and utensils: Knife for chopping, 1 bowl, 1 baking sheet, 1 frying pan, tooth picks

Get from your pantry: Salt, olive oil, Panko bread crumbs, red chili flakes, canned tomato, onion, garlic, roasted red tomato, sugar

Get from your refrigerator: Grounded beef, cream, parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, roasted pepper, eggs

Pre-prepare the following:

  • Open the can of tomato.
  • Peel and mince garlic
  • Preheat the oven for 450 degrees
  • Finely dice onion
  • Break the eggs

Begin to cook with Chef Simmons

  1. Prepare Albondigas
  2. Take a bowl add grounded beef in it.
  3. Add panko bread crumbs in the bowl.
  4. Pour cream in the bowl.
  5. Add eggs.
  6. Put finely chopped parsley.
  7. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic into the bowl.
  8. Sprinkle red chili flakes and salt.
  9. Add cheese and mix everything in the bowl thoroughly.
  10. Make 1 inch meat ball.
  11. Spray some oil on the baking sheet and lay meat ball in it.
  12. Put the baking sheet in the oven for 10 minutes.

Prepare sauce

  1. Heat the oil in the pan and add diced onion in it.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic. Do not let the garlic turned brown. Cook for about 45 seconds or so.
  3. Sprinkle sugar and red chili fakes.
  4. Add roasted red pepper.
  5. Sprinkle salt.
  6. Add freshly chopped parsley cook for about 5 minutes.
  7. Take everything in the pan and put it in the blender and make puree out of it.

To serve:

  1. Take the meatball from the oven and put them on the plate.
  2. Pour sauce on it.
  3. Add chopped roasted red tomato.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on it.
  5. Take the plate and put it in the oven at broiling setting till cheese starts melting.
  6. Insert tooth pick on each of the meat ball.
