Garlic Bread and Parmesan Cheese Chips

Summary:Quick to make, delicious buttery garlic French toast ; bread pieces dipped in butter and garlic reduction and Italian parmesan cheese chips (frico) appetizers made with very few ingredients is sure to impress you party crowd

Prep time and Cooking time (duration): 12 minutes

Number of servings (yield): 5

Ingredients for Garlic Bread:

  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese

Get Ready To Work in “Real Time” to Make Garlic Bread:

Get out these items and utensils: Knife for chopping, 1 sauce pan, 1 nonstick Teflon pan, baking sheet and tong

Get from pantry: garlic cloves, bread

Get from refrigerator: butter, parmesan cheese

Pre-prepare the following:

  • Cut the bread into pieces
  • Peel the garlic and mince it
  • Keep the oven at broil setting

Begin to cook with Chef Maddin and Chef Pellegrini:

Prepare Garlic Bread:

  1. Add the butter into the pan and start melting it
  2. While the butter starts melting add minced garlic in it
  3. Dip the bread in the butter with the help of tong and put it in the baking sheet with the dipped side up
  4. Keep it in the oven near to the broiler for about 1 minute or so and keep an eye on it while it is in the oven
  5. Take the bread from the baking sheet and dip it again in the butter and lay the remain garlic from the pan on top of bread
  6. Put it in the oven for 1 minute or so till it gets little brown in color

Prepare Parmesan Cheese Chips:

  1. On medium high flame heat the Teflon pan
  2. The two ways to make cheese as shown in the video are:
    1. Free style: – take little parmesan cheese in your hand and sprinkle it in the pan and when the sides start to change color gently pull it and lay it along the rim of the bowl.
    2. Take a spoon full of cheese and put it in the pan and hold the pan and give it a little shake and when the sides start to change color gently pull it and lay it along the rim of the bowl.
To Serve:
  1. On serving plate, place garlic bread and serve hot.
  2. Lay the chips on the plate
