Carmelized Ginger Shrimp

Summary: Easy to make, carmelized ginger shrimp is a delicious sweet-and-sour Hors d’œuvre.

Prep time and Cooking time (duration): 10 minutes

Number of servings (yield): 1

Ingredients for Caramelized Ginger Shrimp

  • 4 shrimps
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 inches of fresh ginger root
  • Balsamic reduction
  • Green oil
  • Canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Pinch of thyme
  • Pinch of red chili flakes
  • 3-4 teaspoon of Corn starch

Get Ready to Work in “Real Time” to Make Caramelized Ginger Shrimp:

Get out these items and utensils: Knife, pan for frying, Teflon pan

Get from your pantry: Salt, Sugar, Corn starch, Thyme, Red chili flakes, Garlic

Get from your refrigerator: Shrimp, Ginger

Pre-prepare the following:

  • Finely cut thin slices of garlic.
  • Finely cut thin slices of ginger.
  • Devain and clean the shrimp.

Begin to cook with Chef Burpee:

  1. Put the cleaned and devained shrimps in the corn starch bowl so that shrimps are completely coated with corn starch.
  2. Heat canola oil in the pan and fry the shrimps for about 45 seconds or so

Prepare Caramelized Sauce

  1. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  2. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  3. Add pinch of red chili flakes.
  4. Add pinch of thyme.

Prepare Caramelized Ginger Shrimp

  1. Heat ginger and garlic in the Teflon pan with no oil in it and heat that for 45 seconds approximately.
  2. Add shrimp to the above pan.
  3. Add caramelized sauce on the shrimp and stir it.

To serve:

  1. Sprinkle the balsamic reduction on the plate.
  2. On the top of balsamic reduction add green oil.
  3. Lay shrimps on the top of balsamic reduction and green oil.
  4. Put ginger garlic and caramelized solution from the pan.
